Nagpur: Reacting to BJP’s agitation in protest of inflated power bills, Maharashtra Energy Minister Nitin Raut alleged that Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) was led to death-bed during the tenure of BJP leader Chandrasekhar Bawankule as Energy Minister.
“Bawankule’s lighting the symbolic pyre of electricity bills was apt as he is responsible for the current situation of MSEDCL, Mr Raut said in a statement issued on late Monday night.
“Though they have led MSEDCL to death-bed, we will not leave it there. We will offer solutions to what is ailing MSEDCL and revive it. It will be our priority,” he added.
It must be mentioned here that BJP leader and former Maharashtra energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, along with his workers, on Monday burnt electricity bills here to protest against the state government for not providing relief to consumers complaining of inflated power bills during the lockdown.
