Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch leader and Konkani writer Uday Bhembre who is advocating instruction at primary school level to be in regional languages, on Saturday admitted that his own grandchild is studying in an English medium school.
However, he argued that he does not and cannot decide upon these issues as he is not the father of the child. He however clarified that his son had studied in Konkani Bhasha Mandal’s Konkani medium primary school.
While arguing that a father and son can have a difference of opinion he pointed out that he is a strong Konkani protagonist while his father was a Marathi protagonist.
He admitted that his son and his family and he live in the same house but clarified that decision about their child’s education is taken by his son and daughter-in-law.
