The Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party boycotted the assembly proceedings on Friday afternoon protesting against the Speaker’s decision not to allow a discussion on the Babush Monserrate sordid saga at Mumbai airport last Saturday.
When the House re-assembled at 12:30 noon, as there was no government business on the agenda, the Opposition boycotted the proceedings.
Education Minister Babush Monserrate placed the audited accounts of Goa University on the table of the House while Home Minister Ravi Naik tabled the amended rules under the Prevention of Child marriage act.
None of the private members’ resolutions tables by the BJP MLAs could be taken up for discussion as they boycotted the proceedings.
The speaker read his valedictory remark following which National Anthem was played and the House was adjourned sine die.
