A joint meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs, state office bearers, Morcha Presidents, Zila Parishad Members, Mondal Presidents and General Secretaries was held at the party office in the state capital under the presidentship of Vinay Tendulkar, MP, Rajya Sabha.
In a statement, BJP Goa unit spokesperson Premanand Mahambare said at the outset a resolution was passed congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party President Amit Shah and party workers from all the three states — Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya– for the success in the assembly election.
The meeting decided on the organisational programmes to be held all over Goa in the months of March and April to strengthen the party organisational set up and celebration of party foundation day on April 6, 2018.
Tendulkar briefed the meeting about the interaction held with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar before his departure to Mumbai and the guidelines issued by him about party functioning and his message to party workers.
Dattaprasad Kholkar, State Vice President and Sadanand Shet Tanavade, State General Secretary guided the workers on organisational matters.
State Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar briefed the meeting about the government functioning and the arrangements made for the same during the absence of Chief Minister from Goa.
Former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, in his concluding address, called upon the party ‘karyakartas’ to galvanise the party in all the constituencies during their visits to the mandals in the month of March and April and successfully implement the prgorammes entrusted to them.
The meeting was also attended by State Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, Mahambare said.
