BJP Goa Mahila Morcha General Secretary Anjita Pai on Thursday alleged that the reaction by Congress through its unknown spokesman was but obvious move by Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat to hide behind his workers to save his face.
”The statement by unknown Congress Spokesman Pallavi Bhagat defending Kamat and accusing our party President Sadanand Shet Tanavade is actually another move by Mr Kamat to shy away from facing the reality. We would appeal Mr Kamat to come in front and face the reality and answer the statements by our President as to why he switched over to Congress in an overnight move, when he was elected on BJP ticket. Not only he toppled a progressive government of Late Manohar Parrikar but also made money by switching to congress and burdening the honest taxpayers to pay the cost of conducting elections,” she said.
”The fact is Kamat has lost his credibility during his tenure as chief minister, which was completely laced with corruption and series of scams like that on Iron Ore mining industry and Louis Berger. Besides he has proved himself to be the most non-performing MLA of Goa with zero development in Margao,” Pai said.
”Goa is still paying for the sins committed by Kamat on mining front during his tenure. My advice to Digambar Kamat who is deep drowned in corruption and scams should refrain from taking the name of one of the greatest and honest leaders of India, former CM and Defence Minister of India Padma Bhusan Shri Manohar Parrikar who is the architect of Modern Goa. I would remind Kamat that he is still on bail before calling names for others and would advise Kamat to be brave and face the reality rather than going by the advice of some politically overambitious advisors and led the attack through unknown spokesman,” she said.
