BJP, MGP MLAs in full force at Mickky’s Birthday Celebrations

In a clear statement aimed at showing a strong unity to its political alliance of BJP, MGP and Goa Vikas Party (GVP) in the government, MLAs of the alliance party were in full-force at the 48th birthday celebrations of GVP Supremo Francisco (Mickky) Xavier Pacheco. However, both the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza were absent for the evening celebrations on account of prior outstation commitments. But Parrikar did make it a point to visit Mickky in the morning before leaving for Delhi.

With each MLA taking turns to express their opinions of Mickky, it aimed at sending a clear message to the Congress party, that GVP and Mickky are well entrenched with the current government, that any thought of creating confusion of toppling this government will prove futile.

Speaking on the occasion, Pacheco, stated, last year I made a promise to the people of Goa on my birthday, that I will send the people who played the dirty political game with me home, today politicians who tried to ruin my political career are sitting at home. I have been able to do this because of the people of Goa and my supporters. I have supported BJP under the leadership of Manohar Parrikar because I believe they would work in the interest of the people, unlike the previous government of Congress.

Interestingly, some Congress MLAs also took time-out to visit Mickky in the morning and wish him on his birthday.
