BJP Too Opposes Instruction In English

As expected, the Bharatiya Janata Party has extended its support to continuing with the current pattern of instruction at primary level in mother tongue thereby opposing the new move demanding English as the medium of instruction.
Accusing the Congress of seeking to politicize the issue, BJP State President Laxmikant Parsekar argued that world over it is an accepted norm that elementary education has to be in the mother tongue and said that Goa cannot be an exception to it.

While asserting that his party legislators will oppose any discussion contrary to the internationally followed norm if initiated on the floor of the House, he said decisions like medium of instructions should be taken by experts and not legislators adding that some of the legislators do not have a moral right to decide upon such an important issue given their lack of educational qualifications.
Laxmikant Parsekar welcomed the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party’s stand on the issue.
