BJP Urges Guv For Special Assembly Session

A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday afternoon called on Governor Dr. S S Sidhu urging him to call for a special session of the Goa Legislative Assembly to discuss the medium of instruction and also to demand a thorough investigation into the Balli violence.
The delegation led by State president Laxmikant Parsekar, Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar, Member of Parliament Shripad Naik, MLA Ramesh Tawadkar had other office bearers of the party.

Speaking to media persons, Parrikar said the government cannot suo motto change the policy on medium of instruction when it had assured the Legislative Assembly that status quo would be maintained.
He said the delegation also sought to impress upon the Governor how the Balli incident was mishandled by the authorities and why there was a need for a thorough probe into the incident.
