New Delhi, Dec 15 (GCCurrentAffairs) The BJP workers staged a protest in the capital on Saturday demanding Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s apology to Parliament and the country in the wake of Supreme Court order in Rafale aircraft deal.
The protest was led by Union Minister Vijay Goel.
BJP leaders led by the likes of party chief Amit Shah and two senior Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley on Friday blasted Congress and especially its president Rahul Gandhi for raking up the alleged Rafale-corruption row when none existed.
Leading the government charge in Lok Sabha Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that Mr Gandhi should tender an apology to the House and the nation.
‘They (Congress leaders) have misled the country and also presented India in poor light across the globe. That is why I want to emphasise that Congress president Rahul Gandhi should tender an apology to the House and the nation,’ Mr Singh has said.
Meanwhile, BJP in one of its Twitter handle demanded answers from the Congress leadership on who or which are the “sources” of Rahul Gandhi’s information on the entire Rafale controversy.
“Why did Congress government did not go ahead with the aircraft deal with France between 2007 and 2012 and compromised on national security”, – one of the questions read.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who held the portfolio of Defence for a while, charged the Congress with indulging in ‘fiction writing’ on Rafale.
