BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari files his nomination papers for the Nandigram assembly seat

Haldia: BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari on Friday filed a set of nomination papers before the SDO officer here
seeking to contest from the Nandigram assembly seat, exactly two days after West Bengal chief minister and TMC chairperson filed her candidature to contest from the same seat.

Before filing the nomination papers Mr Adhikari led a roadshow from Khudiram More to the sub-divisional office and exuded confidence to repeat his win from Nandigram.

Union ministers Smriti Irani and Dharmendra Pradhan were present at the roadshow. Mr Adhikari had won the same seat in 2016 on the TMC ticket with a margin of over 80,000 votes over a Communist candidate.

Answering a question Mr Adhikari told reporters that ” you all come to my home on May 2 and have sweets”.
May 2 is the date for the declaration of all the votes for 294 seats.
