Panjim: Goa Biz Fest 2021, a three day extravaganza hosted by BNI Goa region, concluded on Saturday.
BNI Goa in association with their largest Chapter in Goa – BNI Mathagram hosted the three day extravaganza named Goa Biz Expo wherein four regions collaborated to make this Expo of 100+ exhibitors a grand success.
The fourth edition of the Expo was inaugurated on February 18, 2021.
Gracing the inaugural function of the mega virtual expo were Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Rajkumar Kamat, Executive Director BNI Goa Region, Mac Srinivasan, Global Markets President BNI and Rakhi Jain, National President JCI.
While inaugurating the expo and releasing the Exhibition Directory on the occasion, Dr Sawant expressed his pleasure at the unique concept of Virtual Expo.
He said he was very happy at the growth of BNI and the benefit it means to MSME’s and indirectly to the state too. He commended BNI for the initiative of free membership to the NGO’s and SHG’s in Goa and for the inclusive growth culture of BNI.
Extending the support of his offices and the government machinery, he asked BNI and its members to get into enterprises in agriculture, fisheries, hinterland tourism, and green energy and start up sectors. He ended his message hoping BNI would partner with the Government in implementation of these initiatives.
The virtual mega expo promised to literally open the world of opportunities to the exhibitors and the visitors/participants.
“Between the four organizing regions of this expo namely Goa, Hubli-Dharwad, Kolhapur & Mangalore, BNI has a membership of over 1500. Goa alone has a membership of 630+ members – 80% of which are into Services Sector,” Rajkumar Kamat said.
He thanked the Chief Minister for the support and guidance and for recognizing BNI and the role it plays in entrepreneurial growth and employment generation and was also thankful for giving BNI an opportunity to offer suggestions for the forthcoming state Budget.
Highlighting their support as a part of BNI’s community outreach, Mr Kamat also mentioned that BNI Goa had offered one free membership deat in each of the 14 chapters to NGO’s including SHG’s for 2021. Another noteworthy mention from his speech was the fact that BNI Goa registered over 80% of its 2019 business during the pandemic year of 2020, highlighting the importance of the network and the support system of BNI to its members and their businesses. He also mentioned that membership base of BNI Goa also grew by 20 per cent in 2020.
The first day also comprised of talks from eminent panelists such as Dr Jagat Shah, Founder and Chief Mentor, Global Network and Vibrant Markets who spoke on Post Pandemic Business Model for MSME’s and Bharat Daga, Executive Director of BNI & Global Trainer who spoke on how to communicate and build Business relationships. Both the topics were much relevant to the present scenario and were well received by the participants/visitors.
At the GOA BIZ FEST an innovative approach to ‘Business Beyond Boundaries’ was introduced very effectively wherein the local entrepreneurs pitched their business and requirement for collaborations to the top BNI leaders of 10 regions of Asia including India. The BNI Leaders were quick in identifying potential business collaborators for the local entrepreneurs. Through these connects the BNI entrepreneurs will now be able to grow their business to the regions of their choice.
In all there were over 2200 visitors on the first day with over 1100 being present during the inaugural function with the honorable CM and each stall registered over 65-70 hits from visitors and the stall owners were very happy with the response and the enquiries they could generate through it.
On February 19, John Mathani, EX VP of Warner Brothers, talked about Business opportunities for MSME in entertainment industry while Manish Sharma, CEO at JFM Consulting Ltd gave a talk on the topic ‘India’s way forward towards self-reliance’.
On February 20, Murli Srinivasan, Former Global Master Trainer and National Director BNI India, spoke about ‘Taking your business to the next level,’ Nitin Kunkolienkar, President of MAIT addressed on the topic ‘MSME from Legacy to Future’ and Amit Kumar, Founder and CEO, MSMEx on the topic ‘Impacting Growth of MSMEs through effective financial planning’.
The event closed with the valedictory and awards night on 20 Feb, in the presence of Graham Weihmiller, Chairman and CEO, BNI Global as the Chief Guest and also Ms. Sulakshana Sawant, President of All Goa Women SHG Association.
