Kannur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has said both the ruling CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala were ‘enjoying’ corruption for the last several years and time has come for the people to say ‘goodbye’ to them.
Addressing an election rally for BJP candidate C K Padmanabhan contesting from Dharmadam constituency and pitted against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, at Chakkarakkal bus stand after participating in a road show on Saturday, Mr Nadda said during the UDF government’ tenure it was “Solar Scam” in which Saritha was involved and in the present LDF rule it is gold scam with Swapna being involved.
In both the occasions the Chief Minister’s office was involved. The Central agencies are investigating both the corruption cases, he said.
Both the CPI(M) and the Congress are facing an ideological crisis due to following the policies taken by them in Kerala and West Bengal, Mr Nadda alleged.
In Kerala they fight with each other but in West Bengal they are hand-in-glove to oppose the BJP-led NDA, he said.
The BJP President said that Narendra Modi-led Central Government is giving special attention to ‘God’s own country’ as the impetus to development with around Rs two lakh crore spent for the infrastructure development since 2014, which is three times more than the allotments made by the other governments.
Mr Padmanabhan, also the BJP’s former Kerala Unit President, party district President N Haridas and others accompanied him during the road show.
Later Mr Nadda left for Thrissur by helicopter.
