Panaji, Jul 24 (GCCurrentAffairs) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant Tuesday informed state assembly that bridges located at Talpona, Mashem and Bhatpal were capable of handling heavy traffic and hence no need of fear.

”It is agreed that there is rise in heavy traffic on the stretch due to above situation traffic which mainly comprising heavy trucks and trailors. He said all the enroute bridges and culverts were safe to handle all the increased traffic and stretch along with enroute bridges and culverts were continuously monitored for any distress or shortfall in the light of diverted traffic.
There was no need for any fear or anxiety in the minds of public for having any doubts on structural capacities and conditions of all the bridges, culverts and cross drainages located enroute from Margao to Pollem as the structures were safe for increased traffic and also they were regularly monitored and inspected.
”As regards to increased traffic over the road is concerned the geometrics curves and gradients of the roads cannot be improved at this stage. However, it is assured that the road is safe to extent for taking up additional traffic. The road condition is also being monitored,” he said.
