Nanjing, Aug 4 (UNI) India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu on Saturday defeated Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-16, 24-22 in 53 minute to enter the final of the World Championships.
PV Sindhu, was the runners-up in the previous edition, is the lone Indian left in the competition.
With this win PV Sindhu has already assured of a medal at the World Championships. This was the 11th meeting between the two players.
Sindhu will meet Carolina Marin of Spain on Sunday in the title clash hoping to end gold medal drought when she had to settle for silver in Rio Olympics against Carolina.
