Bokaro: Cabinet Minister in unified Bihar and former Bokaro MLA Aklu Ram Mahto passed away on Friday.
Family members of the late leader said that he was admitted at the Bokaro General Hospital on Tuesday for kidney-related ailments and even water had got filled in his lungs. Before that, he was battling sugar and blood pressure. Doctors at the hospital had advised to perform dialysis but before he could be taken to a higher medical centre he passed away in the morning.
He will be cremated in Chaura before that his mortal remains will be taken to his ancestral village of Bhumi Chitahi. 77 years old Aklu Ram Mahto had won the Vidhan Sabha elections in the year 1980 and 1995. He had contested Lok Sabha elections from Dhanbad on four occasions while from Giridih and Hazaribagh had tried his luck once each.
Throughout his political career, he had remained indifferent parties including RJD, SP and even TMC.
