High Commissioner of Canada to India Stewart Beck paid courtesy call to the State Governor Dr. S.S. Sidhu on Wednesday at Raj Bhavan.
The Governor and the High Commissioner of Canada discussed the existing friendly relationship between India and Canada, which is based on shared values, commitment to democratic ideals, pluralism, rule of law, freedom and liberties, secularism and inclusive growth.
High Commissioner of Canada also mentioned that the Indian-origin diaspora in Canada is a vibrant bridge between the two nations and hoped to further improve the bilateral relationship and co-operation.
He also expressed interest in exploring the possibilities of investment in India, especially, in the tourism sector and also of enhancing linkages to build synergies between higher educational institutions in India and Canada.
The Governor emphasized the need to strengthen these bilateral ties between the two countries which would be in the best interest of both the countries to achieve greater peace and economic progress.
