CBI registers a disproportionate assets case against Congress leader DK Shivakumar
Bengaluru: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which had conducted raids in 14 places, registered a case against Congress Karnataka Chief D K Shivakumar on the alleged possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of over Rs 74.93 crore in his name and in the name of his family members.
In a press release issued here today, the CBI had stated that a preliminary inquiry had been done in March 2020 and searches had been conducted on its basis in 14 locations including Karnataka, Delhi, Mumbai and the premises of D K Shivakumar and his other family members.
The Investigation officers, during the raid, had also recovered cash of Rs 57 lakhs, and several other incriminating documents including documents, bank-related information, computer hard disk.
It may be recalled that the state government, recently had granted permission to the CBI to initiate actions under the prevention of corruption Act.
