CBI To Set up Special Court To Expedite Cases

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has requested the State Government to give them permission to start a special court in the State to prosecute all the cases charge-sheeted by them.

Addressing media persons, CBI’s Joint Director Rishiraj said that the formal request has been made to state Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and he has agreed to give the concurrence soon.

Singh also informed that there are at least 42 cases pending in different courts of Goa including sensational Scarlet Eden Keeling death case. The judge to the level of session’s court would be appointed to hear these cases, he added.

Maharashtra has already set up six courts; he said and added that the entire financial liability would be borne by central government.
