New Delhi: The Centre on Monday invited the farmers, protesting against the new farm laws on the periphery of the national capital, for talks on December 30.
Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agarwal sent letters to 40 farmer unions on Monday, telling them that the government was committed to resolving their issues with a rational and open mind.
The government was ready to discuss the three agrarian reform laws and procurement of crops at the minimum support price, said Agarwal.
Earlier, the government had asked the farmer organizations to indicate the time and place of talks. The latter had proposed the government to hold the talks on December 29.
