Centre should ensure adequate availability of Corona vaccines: Raj CM

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said that the Centre should ensure adequate availability of Covid vaccine by May 1, when the people above 18 years of age get eligible for vaccination.

Now that the Centre has agreed to allow vaccination to all adults, he said, it should ensure that there is no shortage of it.

‘We look forward to a rational and transparent strategy for vaccine distribution in the states in the coming days,’ he said.

Responding to the comment, BJP state president Dr Satish Pooniyan said, ‘Vaccination for the age group of 18 years is going to start from May 1. The state government can now directly buy vaccines from the vaccine manufacturers at a fixed price. This will also address the complaint of our Chief Minister also.’ He urged all the eligible adults to get themselves vaccinated.

Dr Pooniyan said that today our country has set an example of efficient Corona management be it supplying vaccines to the entire world or taking measures to ensure proper supply to cover over 12 crore people. In such a scenario one should refrain from unrestrained rhetoric for the benefit of politics.
