Centre yet again gives ‘Goa’ adopted child treatment
When GoaChronicle.com spoke to Subash Shirodkar, president, GPCC on the reshuffle at the Centre, he said, “The reshuffle appears to be well-thought off with a mix of young blood and experience. But it is a bit disappointing that none of the Goa MP were considered for a position in the Cabinet. There was strong indication of Sardinha being inducted.”
Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik also appeared to be disappointed with the zero focus on Goa, he expected that at least owing to the current situation in the state, Centre could have appointed a Cabinet minister this will help Congress to regain some lost ground.
With Andhra Pradesh getting as many as 10 minister inducted into Cabinet, it is surprising that Goa continues to remain without a representation in Cabinet since the last seven years. It also indicates that Congress high command not serious on Goa, expressed a dejected GPCC general secretary, strongly supporting Sardinha’s induction.
