Charity Chase Goa 2010, a programme aimed at creating awareness about children suffering from AIDS in India was held in Panjim today on the sidelines of the ongoing International Film Festival of India. The money raised will be used to provide food, shelter and medical facilities to the children.
Haobam Paban Kumar, director and producer of Mr India a film based on the life of K H Pradip Kumar Singh who not only rebuilt his life but also sculpted his body after testing positive for HIV, said more than the disease, society’s responsible kills the person.
The programme comprised of a mini marathon of 8-kms starting from the Tonca junction. Participants had to register by paying Rs 300 which entitled them for a T-Shirt, snack box and participation certificate.
An entertainment programme followed the marathon where various activities were held for children besides a lot of spot prizes were given.
Organised by DND, Charity Chase Goa 2010 was supported by Goa Tourism Department, IFFI, Entertainment Society of Goa, Indian Armed Forces, Fire & Emergency Services, Goa Police, Rotary Club, Youth for Goa, UB Group, Dempo Group, Tata and other corporate houses.
