Chief Minister Digambar Kamat Tuesday morning held a high-level meeting with senior officials of various departments to discuss the developmental work in his constituency.
The meeting held at government rest house, Margao was attended by deputy collector and senior officials of the public works department, electricity department, water supply division and others.
The chief minister identified projects that need to be completed on war footing in his constituency and also identified projects that should be processed immediately.
Sources close to the chief minister revealed that this exercise was carried out in preparation of early polls in Goa. The general elections in Goa are scheduled to be held in May 2012.
However, the chief minister is preparing to dissolve the assembly earlier and seek a fresh mandate.
Infighting within the Congress, unreasonable demands by the alliance partners and general discontent among the people has apparently convinced Digambar Kamat to seek a fresh mandate.
It is learnt that the chief minister is trying to hold the next elections early next year, either in January or February.
