The Chief Minister’s Bravery Award for Goans has been instituted as promised by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat earlier this year. Recipient of the award besides getting a citation will also be given Rs One lakh in cash.
This award will be conferred upon Goans who display exemplary bravery or gallantry in saving either human life or property and the first award will be presented on Goa’s Liberation day 19th December this year.
Applications for the award giving the details of the deed have to be submitted to the District Collectors, who in turn will forward them to a screening committee comprising of Special Secretary (Home), Deputy Inspector General of Police and the two District Collectors with the Chief Secretary as its head.
The screening committee will give its recommendations to the government to decide upon whom to confer the award.
