Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 26 (GCCurrentAffairs) Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Sunday said that citizens or people holding various positions are duty bound to respect and strictly follow the Constitution.
Unfurling the national flag at the Central Stadium on the occasion of 71st Republic Day celebrations, the Governor said “we are bound to follow the Constitution with faith in the Gandhian thoughts that the true source of rights is duty. If we discharge our duties, rights will not be far to seek.”
“It is through such loyalty that we build a stronger and more progressive India, where pluralism is extolled, where conflicts give way to understanding and mere tolerance matures into heartfelt acceptance,” he said.
The Constitution further obliged us to abide by it, to respect its ideals and institutions and to cherish and follow the noble ideals to achieve higher levels of endeavor and achievement, he added.
