CM Acts On Filling Up ST Posts

Six days after the death of two tribal youth at Balli, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has instructed all Heads of Government departments to compulsorily earmark 12 per cent of the budgetary provisions for tribal welfare and further instructed that this should be complied with within three days.

Chairing a high level meeting attended by Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava, Finance Secretary Kumarswamy, Revenue Secretary V Vijayan, Tribal Welfare Secretary Rajeev Varma, Law Secretary Vinod Kamat and heads of the departments, he also reviewed the filling up of posts reserved for STs.
In order to clear the backlog of vacancies reserved for ST, a special recruitment drive will be held from June to July and the heads of departments have been instructed to submit report every 15 days on the drive.
In yet another belated decision, the Chief Minister directed that Caste Certificates be issued to applicants within three days of submission of application.
