Chief Minister Digambar Kamat praised his ministerial colleague Churchill Alemao for fulfilling his election promise while inaugurating the Telaulim-Varca Bridge amidst much fun fare on Friday evening. While extending his support to Churchill’s projects, Digambar Kamat said the other two bridges in the constituency should be commissioned shortly including the controversial Sinquetim-Benaulim.
While acknowledging Churchill to be a mass leader, he urged the large crowd to continue to support him and also appealed to the contractor to complete the Assolna-Cavelossim Bridge by the end of this year.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Subhash Shirodkar heaped fulsome praises on Churchill and said the party needed him to achieve its target of winning 27 seats at the next elections thereby seeking to assuage Churchill who is smarting due to the machinations of Luizinho Faleiro.
Churchill’s brother Joaquim Alemao publicly appealed to Churchill not to fall prey to the machinations of his detractors who he said, are trying to force him to quit the Congress.
