CM To Decide On AG’s Conduct

The complaint regarding Advocate General Subodh Kantak’s professional conduct has now reached Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and is awaiting his comments.
The complaint was lodged on 29th October last year by the Bombay High Court at Goa to the Chief Secretary following a complaint filed by Advocate Aires Rodrigues against Kantak’s conduct.
Adv. Rodrigues had brought to the notice of the court that Kantak despite being the Advocate General for Goa, had also appeared in a case for a private company in a matter it had filed against the government.
Earlier, the file kept shuttling between the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Law Secretary and Special Secretary (Home) for nearly eight months since the complaint was forwarded to the Chief Secretary.
Incidentally, Kantak is reported to be the highest paid Advocate General in the country who has reportedly been paid Rs. 5 crores over the last five years by the Government to protect its interest.
