CM visits Dabolim Airport

In an effort to understand the current infrastructure capacity status of the Dabolim Airport and its requirement to continue to sustain as an airport for Goa, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar visited the Dabolim Airport today and met with various Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials.

Sources in AAI have told GoaChronicle.com that the minister visit is certainly appreciated but it would be more important for the CM to resolve the issues of land for the expansion of the Dabolim Airport, in order for it to cater to the growing demand of passenger traffic into the state.”

On the issue of the de-notification of the land that was in the final stages of acquisition, the CM said that the matter is subjudice since it is in the High Court but he reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the Dabolim Airport continues even if Mopa Airport comes up in the near future.
