Panaji, Mar 18 (GCCurrentAffairs) Even as a political crisis has descended in Goa following demise of State Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday, several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Monday said that final rites of the late Chief Minister was more important than forming government.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who arrived in Goa late Sunday, along with party National Secretary held B L Santosh held meeting with state BJP leaders and leaders of coalition partners– Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and Goa Forward Party (GFP).
Emerging from the meeting, Goa BJP unit President Vinay Tendulkar said final rites of the late Chief Minister would be performed before process of formation of government was discussed.
‘We will have to first pay a visit to his mortal remains. Then his body will be taken to the party office and after that a decision will be taken,” he said.
BJP MLA and Goa Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo said performance of final rites was to priority of the day.
“Today (Monday) Manohar ji’s final rites and other things have to be done. That is the first priority. This will follow. Solution will come tomorrow,” he said.
