Coast Guards of India and Indonesia sign pact

New Delhi: The Coast Guards of India and Indonesia on Monday signed a pact in an effort to enhance collaborative and cooperative ties to rein in transnational maritime crimes, facilitate Search and Rescue among others.

The MoU was signed by Indian Coast Guard DG K Natarajan and Head of Indonesian Coast Guard VAdm Aan Kurnia through video conferencing.

“MoU between India & Indonesia Coast Guard signed by #ICG DG K Natarajan & VAdm Aan Kurnia, Head Indonesia CG on 06 Jul, through Video conferencing in presence of Shri PK Rawat, Ambassador @IndianEmbJkt & Mr Mochammad Rizki Safary, Minister Counsellor @KBRI_NewDelhi,” the Indian Coast Guard said in a tweet.

“MoU will enhance Collaborative & Cooperative engagements between two maritime agencies to combat transnational Maritime Crimes, facilitate SAR, Capacity & Capability building activities and Maritime Cooperation to ensure safe, secure and clean seas in the region,” it added in another tweet.
