Medellin, Feb 15 (GCSports) Two-time champions Atletico Nacional progressed to the final Copa Libertadores qualifying stage after a 0-0 home draw with Deportivo La Guaira on Thursday.
The Colombian outfit, tournament winners in 1989 and 2016, advanced by virtue of having won last week’s first leg 1-0 in Venezuela.
Nacional will meet Paraguay’s Libertad in the final playoff round, with the first leg to be held in Asuncion on February 20.
In other matches that will decide a place in the competition’s group stage, Chile’s Palestino meet Talleres Cordoba of Argentina, Peru’s Melgar face Venezuela’s Caracas FC and Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro confront Defensor Sporting of Uruguay.
The group stage of the Copa Libertadores – South America’s top club competition – will begin on March 5.
