New Delhi, Nov 28 (IECurrentAffairs) Wishing Shiv Sena Leader Uddhav Thackeray all the best for his innings as chief minister of Maharashtra, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday expressed confidence that the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi , comprising the Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress, will strive the implement the Common Minimum programme in letter and spirit.
In a letter to Uddhav Thackeray, Mrs Gandhi, responding to the Invitation extended to her to attend the swearing-in ceremony, Mrs Gandhi, while regretting her inability to attend the function, said,’’the Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress have agreed to a Common Minimum programme and I am confident that all the three parties will strive their utmost to implement the programme in letter and spirit. ‘’
She said that the people of Maharashtra expect the alliance to provide cohesive, purposeful, responsible , responsive and transparent administration and our collective effort will undoubtedly be to ensure that these expectations are fulfilled.
Uddhav Thackeray is scheduled to be sworn in as chief minister of Maharashtra on Thursday evening.
