Congress calls meeting of its newly elected MLAs


Ranchi, Dec 24 (GCCurrentAffairs) The Congress party has called a meeting of its newly elected MLAs which will be held at the JPCC headquarters here and will be attended by in-charge for party affairs in Jharkhand R P N Singh and state unit chief Dr Rameshwar Oraon.

JPCC spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said that all the party MLAs have been asked to reach the headquarters by the afternoon to attend the meeting. However he said that present legislature wing leader Aalamgir Aalam who won by a record margin from Pakur seat is likely to miss out the meeting as he will be reaching Ranchi late night.

He said that in the meeting a decision will be taken regarding the legislature wing leader after which the party will hand over a letter of support to Mr Hemant Soren following which all of them will jointly go to the Raj Bhawan and stake claim for formation of the next government in the state.

Since the creation of Jharkhand Congress got its best figures in the assembly elections as it won 16 seats out of the 31 which contested.
