New Delhi, Oct 6 (GCCurrentAffairs) A delegation of Congress party led by its President Sonia Gandhi on Sunday met visiting Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Bangladeshi High Commission here.
“INC delegation led by President Sonia Gandhi, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Anand Sharma met with Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina at New Delhi,” a Congress spokesperson said.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi also met Ms Hasina but she was not the part of the delegation.
The Bangladesh prime minister is on a 4-day visit to India, had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and jointly inaugurated three projects to strengthen ties in diverse areas including defence and security, trade and connectivity.
The two countries also had signed seven pacts in core areas such as transport, connectivity, capacity building and culture. Three projects involving the import of LPG from Bangladesh were also launched during the meeting.
It’s her maiden visit to India after assuming the post of prime ministership in 2018.
