Congress demands extension of Goa Assembly budget session

Leader of Opposition in the Goa Legislative Assembly Chandrakant ‘Babu’ Kavelkar on Tuesday demanded that sitting of the House be extended till March 31.

Speaking to reporters, he demanded meeting of Business Advisory Committee (BAC) and alleged that treasury bench was will fully wasting time due to which important questions were not being take up for discussion.

It is important to note that the budget session of the assembly was supposed to be month long but it has been curtailed for just four days in view of the ill health of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai.

After Governor’s address on Monday, Business Advisory Committee had met and decided that the current session would be four days.
