Congress demands removal of Yediyurappa from CM’s post

New Delhi: Congress on Thursday demanded removal of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa from the post, stating that he is an accused in scams and charged with horse trading of lawmakers.

The grand-old-party said that the High Court has ordered to inquire into the charges and the Chief Minister should resign for a free and fair probe.

Addressing a press conference here, Congress spokesperson Rajiv Shukla said,’Karnataka High Court on Wednesday ordered a prob in connection with poaching of MLAs under operation Kamal (Lotus).’

Mr Shukla charged Mr Yediyurappa with poaching lawmakers and forming government. He alleged that Mr Yediurappa formed the government in an illegal way.

He demanded that either the Chief Minister should resign or he should be removed, claiming that it is necessary for a free and fair probe.

The Congress leader said that a minister in the Karnataka government has alleged that the Chief Minister is distributing crores of rupees to the people in matters related to his ministry.


Mr Shukla called it a big scam and said that there are many corruption cases against Mr Yediyurappa, so he should be removed from the post and these cases should be investigated.

Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister K S Eshwarappa has alleged that BSY is interfering in his ministry.
