Lucknow: Expressing strong objection to the remarks of Congress leader, Kamal Nath on a Woman Minister, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief, Mayawati on Monday asked the Congress high command to apologize for it.
In a tweet, Mayawati said, “The extremely anti-women, obscene remark made by senior Congress leader and former CM of MP about a Dalit woman contesting the by-election in Dabra Assembly seat (Reserved) in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, is very embarrassing and extremely condemnable.”
“Taking cognizance of his remarks, the Congress high command should publicly apologize”, she said.
In another tweet, the BSP honcho said, “At the same time, to teach the Congress party a lesson and to prevent further insults to women, it is an appeal to especially the Dalits that if they give their votes to only the BSP candidates in the by-elections to all the 28 seats of the Assembly in MP, it would be better.”
Notably, former MP CM Kamal Nath had seemingly referred to BJP’s Imarti Devi as “item” while campaigning for the Congress Candidate in Dabra on Sunday.
