Congress leaders in Goa need to be active on social media: Dr Harsh Vardhan Shyam

Dr Harshw Vardhan Shyam, Joint Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Research Department, on Thursday said that Congressmen in Goa had to be active on social media and give feedback to the organisation and to the legislators of various issues affecting the state.

Dr Harsh Vardhan said he had, so far, travelled 17 states to interact with Congressmen and other interested in propagating ideology of Congress to the rural and also Urban areas.

Dr Harsh Vardhan said government schemes should be studied by Congressmen and necessary inputs should be given to the party as also to the individual Congressmen.

Dr Harsh Vardhan appreciated the role played by Mahila Congress in comforting the state government on various issues.

Dr Harsh Vardhan`s visit to Goa was related to his task of establishing an unit of Research Department of AICC in Goa.

Welcoming Dr Harsh Vardhan, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Shantaram Naik said Goa Government was not doing enough to update its website and said Right to Information Act required certain mandatory items to be put on the website of the government which the government has failed to do.

Naik said the photograph of late Jan Sangh leader Deen Dayal Upadhay was prominently printied on government forms although “late Shri Upadhay was against the freedom of India and was against democracy and socialism.”

Altinho Gomes, Principal General Secretary, Pratima Coutinho, President of Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress, Saifullah Khan, Ex President of Goa Pradesh Minority Congress Department, offered bouquet to Harsh Vardhan.

Dr Harsh Vardhan said he would soon constitute a unit of All India Congress Committee Research Department in Goa, a statement from GPCC said.
