Congress party not supporting job scam victims: GPCC Gen Secretary

While several Congress leaders current and former MLAs have extended their support to the victims of the job recruitment scam, alleged to have been systematically committed by the previous Congress government, a senior Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC), General Secretary, on condition of anonymity stated that as far as the Congress party is concerned there has been no resolution passed by the GPCC or its related committee to officially supporting the job scam political victims. MLAs supporting them are doing it individually.

When questioned that presence of GPCC president Subash Shirodkar and Youth President Pratima Coutinho and other MLAs like Alexio Reginald Lourenco, Digambar Kamat and former Home Minister Ravi Naik at the indefinite strike, certainly indicates that Congress is supporting the alleged victims. The GPCC general secretary stated that currently certain former ministers such as Kamat and Naik who have allotted jobs to these youths, need to protect the rights of these youth, therefore they have come-out to support in their agitation. But it is not a party stand, neither has any communication come from high command to officially support the youth.

Replying to a question that some Congress ministers are trying to cover their illegality on the job scam issue, the GPCC member stated that it is a matter for the current government to investigate and act accordingly, but the youth should not be caught in this tangle.
