The recent raids on the sex rackets in massage parlors and other prostitution dens along the coastal belt of Calangute by Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo and team have rattled the Congress politicians in particular former Calangute MLA Agnelo Fernandes who has now decided to use the pressure of the Congress party officials to transfer the Police Inspector and Police Sub-Inspector from the Calangute police station.
Interestingly, though several allegations have been made against the former Congress MLA Fernandes who has allowed the flesh trade to thrive in the Calangute coastal belt and even known to receive considerable patronage from the operators of such nefarious activities.
Previously, when Raposo was stationed at the Calangute Police station, Fernandes speaking to then Chief Minister Digambar Kamat had him transfered. Now however, Raposo has garnered the support of the Calangute MLA Michael Lobo. “Let the police who are doing their job, do their job and people with vested interests should not make baseless allegations against the police,” expressed Lobo.
