Panjim: The Congress in Goa on Friday said Governor Satya Pal Malik should seek explanation from the Chief Minister about the statements made by Deputy Chief Minister Manohar alias Babu Ajgaonkar and Minister Michel Lobo trading charges in public, acknowledging that there is gross corruption in the State of Goa.
In a statement, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar said,” Are these statements a Certificate to Dr Pramod Sawant led BJP government?.”
He said the Governor should send the relevant videos and media reports to the President of India and should exercise his Constitutional powers and dismiss the State Government.
The Congress Party had time and again brought to the notice of the Chief Minister various cases of ‘gross corruptions’ by Babu Ajgaonkar and other Ministers in the Cabinet including Chief Minister himself and Babu Kavlekar, Mauvin Godinho, Deepak Pauskar, Milind Naik, Vishwajit Rane and others pertaining to their respective portfolios and positions, Mr Chodankar said.
“Unfortunately, the former Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar deliberately turned a blind eye on it just to keep his chair secured. The current Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant is continuing the legacy of his master of promoting corruption,” he alleged.
He alleged that BJP government had failed on issues like Mhadei, Mining, Tourism, Economy, Seafarers and overall handling of Corona pandemic and it is high time to dismiss the corrupt government.
The utterances of both the ministers stating that there was prostitution, drugs and hafta system going on in Goa with the blessings of entire Cabinet had exposed the gross corruption, irregularities and collapse of administration in Dr Pramod Sawant led BJP Government, Mr Chodankar said.
