Corporates Step In To Pep Up IFFI Budget

Corporate response to sponsor the International Film Festival of India 2010 which has experienced escalation in its budget has brought relief to the organizers. Corporates like HDFC, UB Group, Qatar Airways, Lalit Suri Group of hotels have picked up sponsorship deals.

Entertainment Society of Goa Chief Executive Officer Manoj Srivastava expressed confidence of getting sponsorship to the tune of  1.5 crore this year as against the  1.25 crore it got last year. Incidentally, as against the expenditure of  6.39 crore last year, IFFI 2010 is expected to cost  7.35 crore.
While revealing that this year there are 16 major sponsors for the festival, he said the aim is to make the festival self sufficient so that they do not have to ask the government for grants.
UB Group’s Vice President Govind Tiwari said their Kingfisher Airlines will fly the domestic delegates for the festival and this he said, will help in branding their airlines.
Qatar Airways which will be flying the international delegates who will be transported directly to Goa via Doha, will set up a lounge at the IFFI venue besides promoting the event in their in-flight magazines.
