COVID-19: 611 dead in Iran

Tehran, Mar 14 (GCCurrentAffairs) The death toll from the deadly coronavirus reached 611 in Iran on Saturday, country’s Health Ministry said.
According to IRNA, Heath Ministry official Kianush Jahanpur said that 1,365 other people have been diagnosed with coronavirus since Friday taking the total number of infected persons to 12,729.
A total of 4,339 people have recovered.
On Thursday, Iran asked for international help and the Iranian top leader ordered the armed forces to boost fight against the disease.
Meanwhile, World Health Organization’s Emergency Director for the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, Richard Brennan, said that Iran’s strategies and priorities to contain coronavirus epidemic are evolving as they pursue the right path.
Speaking on the sidelines of visiting the WHO delegation and the COVID-19 pandemic public health experts’ visit to Iran, he said that a comprehensive and coordinated approach is currently being implemented in Iran, especially in the areas of patient management, laboratories, and risk communication.
