COVID-19 death toll soars to 514 in Iran

Tehran, Mar 13 (GCCurrentAffairs) The death toll from the deadly coronavirus reached 514 in Iran on Friday, country’s Health Ministry said.
Kianush Jahanpur, head of Public Relations and Information Center of the ministry, said that 11,364 people in the country have contracted the COVID-19, official IRNA news agency reported.
A total of 3,529 people have recovered, Jahanpur was quoted as saying.
On Thursday, Iran asked for international help and the Iranian top leader ordered the armed forces to boost fight against the disease.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi elaborated on the measures taken in fighting coronavirus and also the foreign contributions rendered.
Speaking to reporters, Mousavi appreciated Chinese government and people for their aid.
It is an honor for the Foreign Ministry to be among the first bodies which stood by people in fighting coronavirus, he added.
Iranian Foreign Ministry has put on the agenda supporting Iranian nationals in other countries, he said adding that during the period of the virus outbreak in China, all efforts were made for helping Iranian students in Wuhan
