Bengaluru: There was a good response in Karnataka for the ‘Weekend Curfew’ that was imposed from 2100 hrs on Friday to 0600 hrs today with people remaining inside their houses and a very few vehicles on the road. Most of the busy roads wore a desert look.
Following good response against surge in Covid-19 cases in the State every day, the authorities are in favour of continuing the curfew throughout the week in an attempt to bring down the pandemic which has crossed 2.88 lakh active cases and has led to death of 10,960 so far.
However, a final decision on continuation of the curfew will be taken by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in consultation with his cabinet colleagues, Technical Advisory Committee on Covid and top officials. The Cabinet meeting is scheduled in the morning to collect the opinion of the Ministers and others.
