COVID-19: Marathwada registers 4597 more cases


Aurangabad: The eight districts of Marathwada region of Maharashtra registered 4,597 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, 57 more deaths were also registered, said the health authorities here on Saturday.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district was the worst affected where highest 1787 cases and 26 deaths were reported, followed by Nanded with 970 new cases and 14 deaths, Parbhani registered 263 new cases and six deaths,Jalna 415 cases and five deaths, Beed district had 283 cases and two death, Osmanabad had 255 cases and two deaths, Latur had 526 cases and a single death and Hingoli 186 cases and a single death.

Meanwhile ,during the past 24 hours total 35,952 fresh cases of corona positive were registered across in the state, bringing the total number of infections in the state to 26,00,833.

While 112 more deaths were also reported, taking the death toll to 53,795.

Meanwhile, a total of 20,444 patients recovered and were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 22,83,037 across the state.

The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 87.78 per cent and the fatality rate is 2.9 per cent.

At present there are 2,62,685 active patients across the state who are undergoing treatment at different Covid centres and hospitals, they added.
