Agartala: Tripura government has issued a high alert following large scale detection of Covid cases across the state and asked the administration to pursue stringent possible measure to the violators of health guidelines apprehending community spread of the infection.
As of now Tripura has a total 2094 positive cases while active cases rose to 602 and two deaths. However, the figure of asymptomatic patients and apparently not having a history of travel or coming to contact of positive persons has been growing everyday, which worried the government to deal with the situation.
Meantime, former health minister of present government Sudip Roybarman in a letter to Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb advised being fair in disseminating information regarding Covid patients and don’t play hide and seek.
He alleged that everyday Chief Minister through his social media handle releasing the Covid bulletin but not describing the means of their transmission, which he used to do initially.
“Now, only people are traveling by road and a few through air in the state. Unless the bulletin describes how many of the people found fresh positive have travel history or the contact of the positive case, people are getting scared of community transmission of Covid and the government is being blamed for hiding such vital information,” Roybarman stated.
He also called for further development of health infrastructure and scientific methodology in computation and categorization for identifying corona patients for fighting the menace effectively and stressed on the need for comprehensive approach and better coordination among the stakeholders to fight better against Covid-19.
Meanwhile, after slice down the service in Agartala Govt Medical College, Amarpur and Bishalgarh hospitals due to Covid infection among the doctors and health workers in last one week, two police stations of Sepahijala district have reduced the scale of operation since last night following nine policemen of Bishramganj and one of Melaghar police station was tested positive.
According to report, all of the policemen were sent to institutional quarantine and others who had worked with him were also asked to go for isolation. The authority had sanitized both the police stations on urgent basis and fresh teams of police were deployed there on an emergency basis.
The chief minister had reviewed the Covid situation last night with health officials and experts and in the morning he held meeting with the deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma and other senior ministers of the cabinet and Chief Secretary to finalise the strategies to deal with Covid situation and other administrative issues including the
proposal for imposing fresh lockdown in the state.
