Kolkata, May 15 (GCCurrentAffairs) Accusing both TMC and BJP for resorting to sporadic clashes during Amit Shah roadshow in the city on Tuesday evening, the CPI(M) has demanded an independent probe by the Election Commission (EC) to determine the culprits and take appropriate punitive action against the guilty.
CPI(M) state secretary Surya Kanta Mishra said,’ Both the parties character has been exposed before the people. He alleged both the parties had taken support from the miscreants, who were from outside and involved in nasty clashes,’ in a statement.
He said both the TMC and BJP workers provoked each other with slogans to polarise the atmosphere and resulted the bloody violence in which three motor cycles have been set on fire in front of Vidyasagar College.
The fighting first broke out in front of University of Calcutta gate at College Square where scores of TMC affiliated students were raising black flags and were provoking with slogans go back Amit Shah then the
fighting spilled to 1000 meters of north in front of Vidyasagar College as the roadshow was in progressed.
Mr Mishra accused the both BJP and TMC involving them selves into brick batting and set on fire on properties as the college campus was also vandalised.
The CPI(M) leader alleged that both the parties were trying to politically polarise the people for vested interests and called upon the people to unite for peace and communal harmony.
He said the left parties have huge responsibility to keep people unite and defeat the disruptive forces in West Bengal.
The Election Commission has responsibility to probe the violence independently and book the real culprits for punishment.
