Crimes Galore!

Even as the muslim bretheren celebrated the Bhakri Eid on Wednesday which coincided with the Feast of Our Lady of Rosary, Navelim police had a tough day as quite a number of crimes were reported in different parts of the State including one involving a police constable.
In the most serious one, a 52-year old woman was raped by her employer barely four days after he had engaged her to work as a maid in his house at Dicarpale.

The woman, a resident of Quepem was reportedly raped by her employer, 32-year old Dilip Goswami, a native of Bihar. Although the crime was committed on 13th November, the victim lodged her complaint only on 17th November.
The accused Dilip Goswami has been arrested by the Maina Curtorim police.

MAN STABBED: The Judicial Magistrate First Class at Vasco released on bail one Joseph Pereira who reportedly stabbed one Sudip Pratapsing Gusain at Vasco, after the police had arrested him for the offence.
On Tuesday the accused Joseph while riding his scooter without the headlights on, nearly rammed into Gusain who was travelling with his wife. After giving chase, Gusain caught up with Joseph and a heated debate occurred between the two during which Joseph reportedly slapped Gusain, who also in turn slapped Joseph so hard that he fell on the ground.
Incensed with this, Joseph apparently pulled out the knife he was carrying and stabbed Gusain, who was rushed to the cottage hospital at Chicalim from where he was discharged on Wednesday.
Police have booked a case under Section 324 of the Indian Penal code which pertains to voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means which attracts imprisonment of maximum three years and a fine or both.

TOURIST MOLESTED, ROBBED: At Colva, a Russian lady was molested and her laptop was stolen by unknown persons late Wednesday after her husband had left leaving her alone in the apartment.
Taking advantage of the fact that the lady was alone in the house, the miscreants stormed into it and stole her laptop which was worth around  45,000/-. Colva police are investigating the matter.

CONSTABLE SUSPENDED: Vikram Naik, a constable attached to the Panjim Police Station was placed under suspension on Wednesday after he was found drunk while on duty and turned abusive and even physical resulting in a Police Sub-Inspector fracturing his fingers.
Vikram reportedly got drunk on a casino and began harassing the staff following which the police were summoned. However, when the police team tried to subdue their colleague he turned abusive and when he was brought to the police station, he turned physical and assaulted his own colleagues.
A PSI assaulted by Vikram has reportedly fractured his fingers. After medical examination confirmed that Vikram was under the influence of alcohol, he was placed under suspension.
